This is the beginning of an ongoing project featuring local artists and artisans. I thought it would be fun to take some portraits of Rebecca with film (analog pictures for an analog process). I first heard about Reb Peters Press from Cheska and Arnold who attended a workshop with Rebecca to print their wedding invitations. She has printed some beautiful business cards for me and I look forward to working more with her in the future. Thanks Rebecca!

I first met with Cheska and Arnold about 2 years ago when I was still pretty new to the bay area. They gave me lots of tips for restaurants to go to and even took me to the most amazing puff pastry shop. Laura and Ted officiated their own ceremony and exchanged flowers instead of rings. The fog sitting on the hills in the distance provided a beautiful backdrop to the heartfelt ceremony. Over in the reception hall Laura and Ted hosted a great party complete with karaoke, board games, Mario Kart, and dancing. Congratulations to Laura and Ted!

I met up with Cheska and Arnold at city hall where they got their marriage licence, they are all set for the wedding in a couple weeks. After city hall we headed over to the ferry building to check out the farmers market. I had so much fun and I can't wait for the wedding!

Eliza and Nathaniel had a Jewish/Quaker ceremony in the Chapel at Mill's college. I really enjoyed the moments of silence during the ceremony, you have a chance to breathe and take everything in. After the ceremony everyone (even me!) got to sign the Ketubah then all the guests walked together to the reception just down the street. I was lucky to work with fellow APW sponsor Elizabeth Clayton, who kept things running beautifully. Congratulations, Eliza and Nathaniel!

Sarah and Joe's wedding at the Radonich Ranch was such a joy. They had board games, bubbles, home brew, and hula hoops for the guests. There was dancing in the barn with a live band followed by a piñata! I was so happy to be there.

The Chuppah was built by Joe's groomsman and the prayer shawls belong to Gilly's grandmother, I just love details like that. Jenn and Eric - Welcome BBQ

Have you ever been to the Marin Headlands? The natural beauty of the headlands along with the former military forts and bunkers make this a really amazing area to explore. Jenn and Eric hosted a casual welcome bbq at the Marin Headlands Hostel and got married at the Headlands Center for the Arts the very next day. I was really lucky to photograph both events - todays is the bbq, tomorrow the wedding!

Polaroids!

One of the good things about being the only photographer in the family is that when people have camera's they don't want they will often send them to you - for free! So I have a nice little camera collection going and most of these cameras are polaroids. I haven't been able to get any film for these cameras in a long time, but I recently stopped in the Impossible Project store and bought some new boxes of color polaroid for the sx 70. The film is petty fussy, it fogs easy and needs a warm temp to develop - but it's fun to have a project. Here are some of my first shots that actually came out, hopefully they will continue to make these films so I can get a little better with them.

I met up with Hannah and Dietrich at their lovely home in Santa Cruz. We hung out and took some pictures then walked a few blocks to the ocean where we met up with Hannah's charming mother and sister and one of the coolest pups ever. The park that takes you from the ocean to Hannah and Dietrich's home was so beautiful. I had such a wonderful time and I can't wait for the wedding!

Elisa and J met in China while studying abroad, how cool is that! We started our day in Chinatown then headed to the Golden Gate Park and made it out to the beach just in time to watch the most amazing sunset. A beautiful day spent photographing a lovely, happy couple - it doesn't get much better.

Holiday Travel

We have been having a great trip home, lots of time spent with family and friends.
